Religious Festivals 2008
Buddhist: Tuesday 20th May - Buddha Day
Christian: HinduTuesday 28th October - Diwali JainTuesday 28th October - Diwali Jewish
Muslim Tuesday 2nd September - start of Ramadan Sikh Branches should note that in relation to the two Eid Festivals, when making management aware of these religious holidays,
it is worth pointing out that sometimes there can be some confusion about the exact day of the Festival and this is effectively dependant on the movement of the moon. Extending flexibility by one day either side of the dates listed should cater for any discrepancies. It is in the members interest that if they wish to take a religious holiday, maximum notice should be given to their employer.
