What exactly is a ULR?
ULRs are union representatives trained to support the learning of individuals at work.
In recognition of thier status and value to individuals and employers.Union Learning Representatives have been given statutory rights to carry out thier roles.
The first Union Learning Representatives were trained and accredited in 1999.
By 2007, there were as many as 18,000 trained ULRs nationwide, with over 2,000 of those in the Northern region.
A growing number of Union Learning Representatives are new union representatives.
Union Learning Representatives operate across all sectors.
ULRs are just as likely to operate in small and medium-sized workplaces as larger sites.
